Being a vegetarian or a vegan just isn’t for everybody, and we understand that. But the truth is that meat has one of the biggest impacts on the environment of anything that you eat at any time. The industrialized meat system used in the western world means not only energy and resources to keep and process the livestock itself (and all the associated CO2) but also to create feed for livestock. We won’t even get into the way in which many animals are treated in the industrialized meat system. Even if it’s only one day a week (celebrate Meatless Monday), reducing the amount of meat in your diet is good for you and good for the planet.
