There are lots of reasons why a farmer’s market is healthy for your mind and body, and some of them have nothing to do with food. Of course, a lot of them do have to do with food. Reducing the amount of chemicals used on your food, reducing the stress and strain of industrial farming and reducing the food miles associated with your food all benefit the planet. It’s important to remember though that just because food is being sold at a farmer’s market, it doesn’t guarantee that it’s organically or ethically produced. Be sure to do your research and ask about the source of your food!
